My wife and I stopped in at Rusty Axe Brewing Company while deriving through Lufkin this past Friday, totally on a whim - based on reviews and the fact that they have a dog-friendly patio. This unplanned stop ended up being a highlight this past weekend. Madeline, our server, was very friendly and treated our two dogs with affection. She provided excellent service, which included some strong recommendations for food. We opted for the fish sandwich and the wild mushroom and truffle pizza. Both were out of this world! You know you both picked well when you keep picking at each other’s dish! As we were wrapping up our meal, Troy and GG stopped by on their way out to say hello and ask how we enjoyed the meal. We then found out that they are the owners. After meeting them, we could tell that they are passionate about their place, and the food and beer they provide. We plan on stopping by next time we drive through Lufkin. This is a highly recommended spot! I only wish we’d taken more photos!

The Rusty Axe is a sharp addition to downtown Lufkin, which also surprised with its murals, lighting, and cleanliness. Cool lumberjack vibe inside. Nice selection of brews, although would love having a hazy IPA added to the menu. Exceptional dining from wood fired pizzas to gourmet entrees. Friendly locals and servers. Yell Timber! and log some time here!

I am visiting lufkin and saw this place had great review and decided to stop by. Let me tell you did not disappoint, great service, delicious food and good beer. If you have some time stop their pizzas are to die for and the Korean tacos are super juicy and full of flavor.

A local friend referred me here and IT did not disappoint. Love the place and the food is amazing. The fresh pork rinds and beer cheese were a hit along with the Poke Tacos. Brooke L my server was so friendly and gave great suggestions for food and beer. She definitely knew all the flavor profiles. Excellent customer service and I Love IT

Me- Rusty Axe Octoberfest He- RA Black Horse Porter Both beers are great choices. We shared the Green Chile Pork Stew. The hatch heat & seasonings in the stew- warm and yummy. Had a garnish of pickled onion, perfect addition to the great tasting and meaty stew.

I’ve had my share of burgers and this one was drool worthy. Hubby and I stopped for lunch and it did not disappoint. The burger had some amazing add ons and the michelada was great too. They had a great beer selection as well. Chloe gave A+ customer service. We can’t wait to go back next time we’re in Lufkin.

Great food and the service was excellent! We had the Pretzel, Wagyu burger, “Not Lobster” Roll and the Bread Pudding. Each one was excellent!

5 star place for less than $50 per person, including drinks and dessert. Don't skip dessert btw, and tip well. The staff is amazing.

We stopped in last week in the afternoon/early evening to pick up some swag for our adult kids. Joe was at the host stand so we asked him and went to the bar to wait. It was pretty busy and we saw him running food, helping guests and other employees etc but he checked back with us to let us know he hadn’t forgotten us. There was entertainment and the singer was really enjoyable. Service at the bar was good but we wanted to send special thanks to Joe. We can’t wait to come back and try their food. Beer and wine were excellent. The brewery was clean even as busy as it seemed.

First impressions matter, and WOW! Rusty Axe absolutely blew me away! The service was impeccable, the restaurant was very clean, and the food came out hot and fresh. The prices were reasonable, especially for the quality of food. I had the grilled chicken on a bun with french fries, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I tried my friend's margherita pizza and it was DELICIOUS. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more.
